Fascinating piece illustrating the insides of the famous "dye pack" bank note bundles popularized in crime movies and TV shows. This bundle of carved out $20 bills features circuitry and a SecurityPac-branded dye pack dated May 23, 2005, packed inside. A strap like this would be concealed between uncut $20 notes, banded together, and kept in a bank's vault. In the event of a bank heist, this strap could be discreetly placed into the robber's take or inadvertently stolen. Upon leaving the bank, a tiny receiver in the pack would lose its signal to the vault's transmitter and detonate the dye pack, potentially ruining the thieves' money or aiding in their capture. This disarmed dye pack strap is the first we've offered and is housed in a customized PCGS slab.
