Very rare half of a hollow "box" medal that would have held brass model California gold coins - a half eagle, dollar, half dollar, and quarter dollar. A sailing ship is depicted in its wharf with the legend "EMIGRATION TO CALIFORNIA" below. See Heritage lot #81885 in their 2007 Long Beach, CA auction for a comparison.
