Description:
BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, (1651-52) (O or E), with crown-alone (oval base, no border, rare) countermark on shield and crowned-L countermark on cross(very rare with two countermarks), ex-Capitana, Mastalir Plate.
KM-19b; Cal-Type 327. 18.80 grams. Very thin from corrosion but deeply toned (VG details) and with both countermarks very clear, the crown-alone countermark in middle of shield very rare (this in fact being the only one known of subtype K10c), the other countermark (common) in lower-right quadrant of cross.
