Reporting Fake Coins on the Internet: eBay Reporting Guide

Many fakes are listed every day on eBay. Asian frauds aside, there are also people with no experience at all playing the "virtual coin dealer" or the "mom and pop" eBay seller who list hundreds of fakes every year, some very obvious and even funny; however it will not be fair to omit mentioning  that there are serious and known dealers on this platform as well.

 

We have an extensive data base for fake cobs, but that of course won't stop counterfeiters and scammers from selling them. We think that in order to keep the level of fake coins low we need the participation of collectors identifying and  reporting. The best way to report a fake coin on eBay is to scroll down the listing page showing the fake coin all way to the bottom, where you will see a "Report this item" link, as shown below...

We immediately Have a "File a report" page, in order to find the right combination and report the fake coin,

we have to pick the following combination:

 

1: Prohibited (banned items)

2: Currency, Coins, Stamps, Coupons, etc.

3: Fraudulently or improperly described currency
